Dennie Stephenson, Scoutmaster

The challenge of leadership is to be strong, but not rude; be kind, but not weak; be bold, but not bully; be thoughtful, but not lazy; be humble, but not timid; be proud, but not arrogant; have humor, but without folly. —Jim Rohn

Festival of Cultures June 7thcitizenship_in_the_world_sm[1]

We will meet at the church at 1 pm and then caravan to Rocky Mountain College to attend this event. This will complete requirement #7 for Citizen of the World merit badge.  It should be interesting and fun!

PLC and Troop Meeting June 9th

Originally we decided not to hold a meeting on this day because our Scoutmaster is not able to attend.  But this will be the last meeting before Court of Honor.  So Chris and Eddie will conduct the meeting on this night.  Scouts, this is your time to talk to merit badge counselors and complete your merit badges so they can be awarded at the Court of Honor.

Also on June 9th, scouts will plan the meals for the Camporee.  You will be planning  3 breakfasts , 3 lunches  and 3 dinners   Bring your ideas to the meeting, write them down.  Think about everything you might need to bring in order to make that meal.  Good eating comes from good planning!

Court Of Honor, 6:30 pm; June 16th

This Court of Honor, please bring a dessert or treat to share!  We will hold the Court of Honor first and then the scouts will participate in a Spike Buck Auction!  Scouts bring your Spike Bucks to this meeting and bid for items to take to camp and more.  This should be a lot of fun!

Pack for Camp, June 18th, 6pm

Scouts attending the State Camporee should meet at the church at 6pm.  We will pack the trailer to leave early the next day (time TBD).  Scouts are encouraged to bring their personnel gear tonight as we are leaving very early in the morning.

June 19 – 22, State Camporee

Get ready for a fun time!  We will leave early on Thursday morning for Townsend.  Scouts will set up camp and then head to Helena and a tour of the state capital!  We will then come back to camp and the State Camporee!

National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT), June 22-28

Scouts attending this event will be transported from the State Camporee to K-M on Sunday, June 22nd.  This will be a great experience!

June 23rd – June 30, Mandatory Meeting for Melita Island

There are two meetings required to attend by both the scout attending camp and their parents.  These are mandatory meetings.  Dennie will give out vital information for attending this camp including what to bring and what your scout should expect.  Please bring your questions and Dennie will be able to answer most of them or find out answers for you.

June 30th Troop Meeting

Scouts signed up for Melita Island and their parents will have a mandatory meeting at 6pm.  All other scouts, this MOVIE NIGHT!  Troop meeting will start at 7pm.

***** There is no committee meeting in July******

Anyone interested in helping with the 100 Year Anniversary of Troop 2, there will be a meeting on Thursday, July 17th at 6:30pm.  Please let me know if you are interested (amysullivan@bresnan.net)  I will set up a group email list to send out information on the committee.  If you can’t make the meeting on the 17th, that’s okay; I’ll put you on the committee email and keep you up to date with plans.  I will inform the entire troop when we have our “game plan”.
